This June 8-10, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance, in conjunction with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, will host Roadcheck 2010. These two organizations, along with inspectors from state and local organizations, will ensure driver and vehicle compliance across America’s roadways. They will set up more than 1,500 locations to inspect large commercial trucks and buses. Last year, 72,255 vehicles and drivers were inspected. Out of that number, 56,486 were North American Standard (NAS) Level 1 Inspections.
NAS standards ensure that drivers are up to date on their license, medical examiner’s certificate, as well as checking drivers’ hours-of-service and records. It also includes a thorough inspection of the vehicle’s major mechanical systems.
