How fleets are working to mitigate rising insurance costs

Trucking companies’ insurance premium costs per mile have increased 47% over the last decade, rising to 87 cents per mile in the American Transportation Research Institute’s (ATRI) latest “Operational Costs of Trucking” report.

In February, ATRI released the results of a new study that looked at the impact of rising insurance costs on the trucking industry and what trucking companies are doing to try to keep those costs in check.

In this week’s 10-44, Jason and Matt talk with Dan Murray, senior vice president with ATRI, who spoke about the findings of ATRI’s latest research and how fleets are trying to combat skyrocketing insurance costs.
