Diesel prices jumped 3.1 cents over night Monday, October 4. The New York Mercantile exchange put light, sweet crude oil at $82.82 a barrel. The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) shows that diesel prices reached a national average of $3 a gallon. DOE states that these are the highest diesel prices since May.
