FMCSA proposes changes to CDL testing requirements
The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is proposing changes to CDL testing aimed at streamlining the process.
A notice of proposed rulemaking will publish Friday, Feb. 2, in the Federal Register in a move that FMCSA said it believes will “improve the efficiency and convenience of CDL issuance and improve highway safety by further ensuring the integrity of third-party CDL knowledge testing.”

Today’s trucking firms still feel ripple effects from this decade’s supply chain struggles and other industry-wide challenges. However, for many, an enormous obstacle to healthy growth and predictable cash flow lies within their corporate walls: their accounts payable (AP) processes. Paper-based, manual invoice processing leads to late payments and fees, duplicate payments, and lost invoices (and thus completely missed payments). These cause increasing frustration for the carrier’s vendors, suppliers and drivers, not to mention those monitoring the company’s cash flow.

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration is proposing to remove medical examiners (MEs) from its National Registry of Certified Medical Examiners who have failed to access their National Registry account using login.gov and update the profile information in their account as required.
